Solberg also gently chided Trump over his suspicion of global trade agreements. When the pictures of Mr Shirai went viral they caught the attention of Japanese police who requested his arrest. Thai police followed Shirai's trail and detained him for visa violations. According to Lop Buri provincial police, the arrest of the Japanese yakuza gang member was a cooperation between the Immigration Bureau and the Japanese Interpol in Tokyo after over a decade of investigation and hunting. Newsweek reached out to U.S. Pacific Command for a comment, but did not hear back by the time of publication.
