A vehicle-borne improvised explosive device attack left four U.S. soldiers wounded in Kandahar, Afghanistan on Monday, a United States military spokesman said. Twenty two policemen also lost their lives in the clash, officials confirmed . The incident occurred about 150 feet from the hospital's ER in the Amherst Road parking lot. Seese was the Medical Director of the Noninvasive Cardiovascular Lab at the hospital. Mayuko Matsumoto's daughter found her bleeding profusely from about 20 cuts to her face on Nov 6 at her home in the mountainous region of Mifune, Kumamoto Prefecture. Local authorities found traces of blood, that could possibly belong to the victim, on one of the felines. The White House issued a new executive order in September to replace an expiring 90-day temporary ban on travellers from Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen. The ruling Monday will keep people from the six mostly majority Muslim countries included in the travel ban who do not have a "bona fide" relationship with someone in the USA from entering the country. A North Korean soldier on Monday defected to South Korea via the truce village of Panmunjeom, according to South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff. South Korea's National Intelligence Service (NIS) confirmed a United States citizen had attempted to enter North Korea via the DMZ, but would not give any further information. (more...)

Public information officers said the shooting and stabbings occurred at about 7:44 p.m.at 1974 Hughes Ave.in the area covered by the 48th Precinct in the East Tremont neighborhood. Perry Little, 70, died weeks after the October 30 stabbing. The Hughes House is a facility run by Urban Pathways, a nonprofit that provides permanent and temporary housing for the homeless, safe havens for the mentally ill, career development programs and medical and rehabilitation services. The A&E doctor said he was not sure of the size of the shark, but added: "I got the impression it was big, it felt big to me, the head was really big.it was about to eat me!"
