The baby's mother, 19-year-old Ladasha Harriett, has been charged with homicide by child abuse. Orange County Deputy Ingrid Tejada-Monforte told the outlet the girl's mother, 37-year-old Myriam Lubincadet, was arrested and charged with child neglect. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Chief Kerr Putney said officers responding to a home invasion call about 10 p.m. Monday shot the man several times after the woman escaped because they felt he was an imminent threat. CMPD said officers then shot the man. The officers involved were placed on administrative leave while the department investigates, which is standard protocol in officer-involved shootings. (more...)
