Gray (9-10) took a hard-luck loss in a complete game despite allowing just five hits and one walk while striking out nine over eight innings . There are now three hurricanes in the Atlantic. As of 5 p.m. ET, Jose was out over the open Atlantic, not far from where Irma was a couple of days ago. It's not close enough to cause direct destruction, but close enough to potentially bring another round of wind and rain to the ravaged islands. The storm is expected to make landfall in Mexico's southeast coast late Friday or early Saturday. (more...)

The boy's mother later posted pictures showing rope burn on the boy's neck on Facebook . "So my son is being flown to Dartmouth after a 14-year-old kid chose to hang him from a tree". The boy allegedly swung back and forth three times from the rope before he was able to free himself. The boy was taken to a Claremont hospital where he was treated for the neck injuries that he sustained. (more...)
