Kuwait confirmed Monday it had "full control" of the oil spill off its southern coast caused by an accident over the weekend, estimated to have released 35,000 barrels off Al-Zour's coast, Kallanish Energy learns. Oil analysts estimate about 35,000 barrels of crude may have leaked into waters near a Kuwaiti-Saudi offshore oilfield. Experts from Saudi Arabian Chevron and Oil Spill Response Limited have joined the effort to clean up after the leak. (more...)
