SunHerald reports that former teacher Nicole Jackson , 30, who was arrested on April 10 and charged with "sexual battery while in position of trust or authority", is believed to be on the run with Oscar O'Neal II, 16. Jackson has since bonded out of jail but has an active warrant out for her arrest. Oscar is also believed to go by the nickname 'Pooh Gotti' . It remained unclear if the woman remained married. The turtles use the natural light of the moon reflecting off the ocean to guide them toward the water. The turtles come ashore on the beaches in the Lowcountry to lay approximately 120 eggs around the dunes. "Reducing light around beaches helps ensure the turtles crawl toward the sea". MOTE scientists will again mark the turtles' nest with yellow sticks to protect them and to help limit public interaction with the nests. (more...)
