The Coast Guard says two Black Hawk air crews were reportedly training off the island of Oahu at the time. Kaena Point is northwest of Honolulu . Responders are searching for five missing crewmen. The Coast Guard said weather conditions at the search scene included 11 miles per hour winds with 2-foot seas. Police say Tyray Munter and Maksim Petrovskiy escaped from the Goldendale Department of Natural Resources fire crew at about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. Surveillance images were released showing the suspects in Portland on Tuesday. Both were convicted in courts out of Snohomish County. Two other Washington state inmates escaped from a work crew two months ago. A DOC spokesman described their capture as "peaceful" at the time. (more...)

Firefighters were today battling a huge blaze after an apparent explosion near London Southend Airport. The fire was put out after around an hour and caused no disruption at the airport. An airport spokesperson confirmed firefighters were dealing with an "incident... on the north side of the airfield".
