"So it will allow them to continue those relationships". The company spokesperson says since the rule was implemented, four out of 42 smokers on staff have given up the habit. "We don't give punishment for smoking", Matsushima said. Durham received a "C" for a premature rate of 10.2 percent. The preterm birth rate in the US has increased for the second consecutive year, according to a new report, and minorities are suffering a disproportionate share of those births. 4 states, including West Virginia, Alabama, Louisiana, and MS, as well as Puerto Rico, got an "F" for preterm birth rates of 11.5 or greater. The March of Dimes gives "A" grades to states that have a preterm birth rate of 8.1 percent or lower. (more...)
