Mantle cell lymphoma is a rare and aggressive form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, a cancer of the lymph system, which includes lymph tissue, nodes, spleen, thymus, tonsils and bone marrow. The data showed an ORR of 81% (95% CI: 73, 87) with 40% of patients having complete response and 41% having partial response. Common side effects include headache, diarrhea, bruising, fatigue, muscle pain, anemia, thrombocytopenia, and neutropenia. (more...)

According to Susan Mayne, director of the FDA's Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition, this is the first time the FDA has proposed a rule to revoke a health claim due to numerous studies published since the claim was made. FDA estimates total annualized costs of $35,000 to $81,000, when the relabeling costs are annualized over 20 years at a 7 percent discount rate.
