Scientists have recently become anxious that humans who consume the meat of deer, elk, moose and other members of the same family could catch the disease as well. It is similar to mad cow disease and is caused by the spread of misfolded proteins called prions. Langlade County is within 10 miles of the Lincoln County positive wild deer, and due to being adjacent to a county with a CWD positive test result, a two-year ban will be enacted for hunters and landowners in that area. She says the paramedic told her the labored breathing was a typical symptom of the flu and that he thought her daughter would be OK. The patient, a 5-month-old, was not injured in the crash. The crash happened around 3:45 a.m., near the intersection of USA 31 and State Road 218. The ambulance didn't stop for the red light, and crashed into the Dodge Dart. Chaban was partially ejected from the ambulance during the crash, according to the release, and died from his injuries. The driver of the auto was hospitalized with a broken collarbone, and his passenger suffered a head injury that isn't expected to be life-threatening. (more...)

Immediately after finding the box, members of the school's administration made an announcement, asking for any student who had eaten the gummies to come to the front office.
