Jeremy Kyle Show suspended after death of guest

Steve Dymond was set to appear as a guest on the show, which has now been pulled off air indefinitely following the shock revelations on Monday.

More than 3000 episodes of The Jeremy Kyle Show have been shown on British TV since July 2005.

The Daily Mail reports that ITV are carrying out an investigation into the episode, which will not be broadcast.

"The Jeremy Kyle Show' has been suspended by its British broadcaster after a contestant died following an appearance on the show".

The show screens on TVNZ in New Zealand, it was not immediately clear if the United Kingdom decision will affect current screenings here.

ITV says a review of the episode is now taking place and that its thoughts are with their friends and family.

"The team including Jeremy himself were in constant contact with me throughout making sure I was OK and since leaving the rehab, they have continued to be in touch and I have felt fully supported throughout".

The show, which is filmed in front of a live audience, regularly uses "lie detector tests" and discusses relationship and family issues.

Filming and broadcasting of the programme will be suspended while the review is being conducted.
