American Airlines pilot arrested at Louisville airport, charged in 2015 triple homicide

Christian Martin

Christian Richard Martin, 51, was indicted for the 2015 murders of Calvin and Pamela Phillips and Edward Dansereau, according to a statement from Kentucky Attorney General Andy Beshear.

The charred bodies of his wife, Pamela Phillips, 58, and their neighbour, Edward Dansereau, 63, were also discovered in a auto burning in a local cornfield. He remains in the Christian County Detention Center without bond. According to reports, Calvin was a potential witness in the 2015 murders of Danserau and the Phillipses.

Calvin had been scheduled to testify against Martin in a military court martial when he was killed.

Martin is charged with three counts of murder, as well as counts of arson, attempted arson, burglary, and tampering with evidence.

In a 2016 interview with WSMV-TV in Louisville, Martin claimed that Calvin Phillips had been having an affair with his wife - but denied any involvement in the murders.

"I don't know why anybody would want to do something to them", Martin said.

In a mugshot widely disseminated on media sites, Martin is seen wearing his airline uniform, with the three stripes of a first officer visible on each shoulder.

Trump praises Orban as right-wing leader visits
President Trump is meeting with Hungary's far-right prime minister Monday, something the last two US presidents have not done. The meeting could also be seen as an attempt to discourage Hungary from strengthening ties with Russian Federation and China.

Family members said in a statement that the bodies of Pamela Phillips and Dansereau "were brutally extinguished - beyond recognition from family". Martin was ultimately convicted of assaulting his stepson by coming up behind him, "placing his arms around his stepson's neck in a 'rear naked choke, ' lifting him off the ground, and squeezing his neck until his body went limp and felt numb", according to the records.

"I'm very much looking forward to seeing this trial convey exactly who he is and have him defend his actions", said Matt. In that meeting, the son said he was anxious the case had stalled. "My folks were wonderful, wonderful people and I miss them terribly", said Matt.

American Airlines said in a statement to Fox News that it is cooperating in the investigation, and that Martin has been a pilot for subsidiary PSA Airlines since January 2018. He was arrested by the Louisville metro police department, along with the help from the United States Marshals Service, at the Louisville International Airport.

Martin moved from Christian County after the killings and was living in North Carolina at the time of the indictment.

Lanesha Gipson, a spokeswoman for American Airlines told the Louisville Courier Journal that Martin was placed on administrative suspension pending the outcome of this investigation.

Ashley Martin and her mother, Frances Wise, were waiting to board an American Airlines flight from Louisville to Charlotte when they heard their pilot had been arrested.

'We have an unwavering commitment to the safety and security of our customers and team members, and we will provide any investigative assistance possible to law enforcement throughout their investigation'.
