Students Blame Chelsea Clinton for Christchurch Massacre, Force Her to Apologise

While attending a vigil at New York University for the victims of the vicious attack, which left 49 dead and dozens more injured, several Muslim students went up Clinton and began berating her for her past tweet.

Some of the NYU students told Clinton she wasn't welcome at the vigil.

Still, the student persisted in dressing down Clinton, claiming the shootings were "stoked by people like you".

"This, right here is the result of a massacre stoked by people like you and the words that you put out into the world!" the activist says, adding that she wants Clinton to "feel deep inside" her guilt in what had happened to the victims.

"I'm so sorry", Clinton is heard saying on the video, "it certainly was never my intention, I do believe words matter, I believe we have to show solidarity".

Last month, the former first daughter joined throngs of Democrats and Republicans in condemning language used by Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), one of the two first Muslim women elected to Congress, that they saw as perpetuating anti-Semitic stereotypes.

Clinton is receiving largely bipartisan support in the wake of the incident. The son of President Donald Trump, 72, didn't hesitate to speak his mind in his tweet and even suggested praise for Chelsea. I do believe words matter. "We should all be condemning anti-Semitism & all forms of hate".

Alleged gunman, Brenton, 28, is an Australian personal trainer and he allegedly killed 49 people and injured 48 others at two mosques in Christchurch, NZ on March 15. "Anyone who doesn't understand that is part of the problem", he tweeted.

While this discussion has centered around President Trump, who was named in the shooter's manifesto, and who denied the fact that white supremacy is a growing concern in this nation, for some reason Chelsea Clinton was attacked yesterday.

Reaction on social media to the students' treatment of Clinton shows how this tragedy is being viewed across the political landscape. "I want you to know that".

"I am so sorry you feel that way", responded Clinton.

"It's all about the Benjamins baby", Omar said in a since-deleted Tweet responding to House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy's announcement he would take action against Omar and Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Michigan) for being critical of the Jewish state.
