O'Brien back for Ireland, Beirne makes Six Nations bow

Ireland's scrum-half Kieran Marmion passes the ball during the Six Nations international rugby union match between Ireland and England at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin

Ireland head coach Joe Schmidt has recalled Rob Kearney and Sean O'Brien in the line-up for the final round of the Six Nations clash against Wales to be played in Cardiff. Munster's Tadhg Beirne comes into the side for his first Six Nations start due to an injury to Iain Henderson.

Scrum-half Kieran Marmion may get his first taste of Six Nations action this year off the bench, with Jack Carty and Jordan Larmour covering the rest of the backline.

Schmidt backed tournament rookie Beirne to shine on his return to Welsh soil.

Jones said on Thursday that Wales were "starting to look a bit tired" after making "more tackles than anyone else in the tournament", and were facing an Ireland side "that seems to be peaking at the right time".

"I think he knows these players pretty well". "We've got an opportunity to show that we're the best team in the Six Nations and approaching the best team in the world and we're not going to miss that opportunity". "He knows his Scarlets team-mates very well". "And I know he's incredibly motivated to be as ready as he can be".
