Peter Strzok Deleted ‘Personal’ Communications With Lisa Page

Then-FBI official Peter Strzok testifies before House lawmakers in July

"She was not considered a target by the Justice Department", Mr. Strzok told the House Judiciary Committee, saying that while investigators saw her as a "critical player", she was "not by any means the only person that we had an investigative interest in".

Other parts of Page's testimony touch on her controversial text message conversations with her lover, Peter Strzok, about an "insurance policy" to use against Trump if he won the 2016 election.

In one text on August 8, 2016, Strzok told Page that "we'll stop" Trump from becoming president.

Page testified before the House Judiciary Committee in July 2018.

Facts first: Trump's claims about the Justice Department and Clinton email investigation are not supported by Page's recent testimony or the conclusions reached by independent investigators.

Page, who came to prominence over anti-Trump texts she exchanged with former FBI counterintelligence official Peter Strzok while both were assigned to the Clinton and Trump investigations, stressed that senior bureau officials were also expressing anti-Clinton animus - but that neither affected how agents working those cases carried out their jobs.

Facebook Loses Longtime Product Chief as It Revamps Strategy
Cox joined Facebook in 2005 and is largely responsible for the News Feed, one of Facebook's foundational features. Media reports cite sources inside Facebook who said the new privacy focus was partially why Cox chose to leave.

Page explained that the "insurance policy" text message referred to the FBI investigation into potential collusion between the Trump campaign the Russian government.

Aitan Goelman, Strzok's attorney, said in a statement Thursday: "Pete welcomes the release of the transcript of his closed-door testimony, which we have been calling for since he voluntarily testified last June".

"She claimed that former FBI Director James Comey proposed the gross negligence charge to the DOJ multiple times as he received their advice, and at one point in Page's hearing, Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-TX) asked her if the Department was essentially telling the FBI "'You're not going to charge gross negligence because we're the prosecutors and we're telling you we're not going to'".

President Trump has taken notice of the discrepancy.

The Strzok-Page texts were discovered during an investigation of the FBI's handling of the Clinton email investigation.

"My answer "No" was my personal belief that I did not think he would be", the fired agent said, adding later, "My best sense looking at this text that I didn't recall until I read it very recently, was that "we" is my belief that the American people, there is no way that they're going to elect him". It was after that call that Rudolph W. Giuliani went on TV claiming to have insider knowledge from Federal Bureau of Investigation agents; Strzok said he knew of no agents talking to Giuliani.
