Jennifer Lopez’s Motown Grammys Tribute Has Viewers Confused

Jennifer Lopez Grammys 2019

Robinson agreed with Lopez and stood by Grammy organisers who selected the Latina star to perform, calling the backlash "stupid".

The highlight of the tribute was Robinson joining Lopez onstage to perform the Temptations' "My Girl", despite an incredibly awkward ad lib of "My Jen". The record label was home to numerous music artists including Robinson, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson and Diana Ross. "@RecordingAcad y'all couldn't find BLACK women to do this MOTOWN tribute?!"

An emotional Lopez, who's of Puerto Rican descent, noted afterward that Motown Records founder Berry Gordy, who was in the audience, "was thrilled" to have her sing and was well aware of how much she's been influenced by Motown songs. Thanks to Berry Gordy, "Motown became a model of black capitalism, pride, and self-expression and a repository for some of the greatest talent ever assembled at one company..."

"Grammy failed on the Motown tribute #GRAMMYs".

The 49-year-old was chosen as the headliner of the 60th anniversary tribute to Motown, where she blasted out a number of classics alongside Smokey Robinson, Alicia Keys and Ne-Yo. "You can't tell people what to love", Lopez said.

After feeling bad he recovered and when he was taken to the dressing room he was better, as if he had overcome the problem. He was later taken to hospital before being released on Sunday . "All our thoughts go to the lad Clarke".

The singer, who now has a residency in Las Vegas, shared how Grammy producers and Motown Records founder Berry Gordy were "thrilled" about her tribute. "You gotta do what's in your heart". Huffington Post editor Phillip Lewis posted, "I'll never understand why they didn't choose someone Black for a MOTOWN tribute". But you know, I want to dedicate this performance to my mom because this is the music we listened to in our living room. "I'm just very humbled and honoured to be able to have sung those songs".

"There are SO many Motown artists who are alive and well, so why aren't these artists performing in the Motown tribute?" one viewer asked.

'It's just a small amount of shows, but we'll be out all through June and July, I think, ' Jennifer said.

So, fortunately for Lopez, no matter what people say, she'll always have her no. 1 fan at her side.
