XFL Announces Coach For Dallas Team Jim Ross Reacts

The Rangers are moving into a new stadium across the street from Globe Life Park.

Former OU football coach Bob Stoops was introduced Thursday in Arlington, Texas, as the first head coach and general manager of the Dallas franchise in the revived XFL.

Stoops coached the Oklahoma Sooners to a 190-48 record before he announced his retirement on June 7, 2017.

Jim Ross noted on Twitter that he is close friends with Stoops and he is very excited about the news and he praised the league for hiring him.

The XFL will begin play in 2020 during the early part of the year and will feature a 10-week regular season.

More coaches will be named in the coming weeks. The 59 year-old coach led the Sooners to a National Championship in 2000. Wrestling entrepreneur Vince McMahon is backing the venture again.
