Kelly plans tour of Sri Lanka, Australia, New Zealand

R. Kelly performs in concert at Barclays Center

"The singer revealed that he'll be hitting Sri Lanka, Australia, and New Zealand".

In January, promoters planning R. Kelly's tour in Australia and New Zealand claimed they pulled out of talks with his management team in the wake of the sexual misconduct allegations against the singer that resurfaced after Surviving R. Kelly debuted.

R. Kelly said Tuesday he is planning an worldwide tour, but an Australian lawmaker wants the country to bar him from performing there if the concert plan goes forward.

"See y'all soon" the post read, accompanied by a picture of Kelly and the declaration "The King of R&B".

Kelly has since deleted the tour announcement from all of his social media accounts but not before a number of Australians expressed their displeasure at his plans.

Kelly's career has been stifled since a #MuteRKelly campaign gained momentum past year to protest his alleged sexual abuse of women and girls, which Kelly denies.

Kelly heads out on the overseas tour less than a month after the documentary, which featured Kelly's accusers, relatives, families, and industry insiders detailing more than 25 years of allegations against the singer that include physical, emotional and sexual abuse of women and underage girls.

In 2002, Kelly was indicted on 21 counts of child pornography and most recently, was accused of holding young women in a "sex cult".

R. Kelly is refusing to let his sexual assault scandal derail his career by booking a world tour. After Kelly's Tuesday announcement, local politicians of the Labour Party released a statement condemning his entry into the country. "There are strong provisions under the Act to refuse or cancel a visa where a person is found not to be of good character", the spokesperson said.

"Labor would be seriously concerned if immigration minister David Coleman would allow an individual such as R. Kelly into Australia", said Shayne Neumann the Australian shadow minister for immigration and border protection, in a statement obtained by The Guardian.
