Ocasio-Cortez Poised to Join Banking Panel

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez and Rep. Ilhan Omar join their fellow House Democratic women for a portrait in front of the U.S. Capitol

If there's any doubt that freshman Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is the new champion of all progressive causes, her latest hire will definitely prove it.

Since her election, Ocasio-Cortez has made a number of controversial statements which have provoked strong responses, including accusing the former White House Chief of Staff and retired Marine Corps General John F. Kelly of "cowardice". Also pictured is Rep. Dina Titus, D-Nev., right.

During this time, campaign staffers were not covered for injuries received on the job.

According to the NYDN, a "Democratic campaign veteran scoffed that "it's not a great look" for Ocasio-Cortez that her campaign received a fine for not carrying workers' compensation coverage". "Honestly, if the Democrats had three more of her [Ocasio-Cortez], Americans would run away so fast that we'd have a power monopoly until she's Lieberman's age".

In responding to the Politico article Friday morning, Ocasio-Cortez quoted a character from the comic book Watchmen to signal her intention to resist the influence of more experienced lawmakers.

Chelsea consider Willian sale, but not Hudson-Odoi
However, Sarri has urged him to stay and fight for his place and moved to condemn Bayern's public pursuit of Chelsea's academy graduate.

Ocasio-Cortez also could be an important ally for committee Chairwoman Maxine Waters. Among other things, the 29-year-old is pushing for an increase to the top marginal income tax rate, from 37 to 70 percent, a full transition to renewable energy for the sake of ecology and for the de facto nationalization of the medical industry, under the "Medicare for All" slogan. "I think every creative solution needs to be on the table", Pressley told The Hill.

"People are going to have to start paying their fair share of taxes", she said. She still has not answered whether she will follow through with her own advice to fellow lawmakers to "have some integrity" and forgo her paychecks during the partial government shutdown.

Ocasio-Cortez followers were there to applaud the tweet, supporting the idea of Lieberman and his views being out of date with even more jabs and memes.

"She's new here, feeling her way around", Rep. Kurt Schrader (D., Ore.) said.
