Kevin Hart says he won't be hosting Academy Awards

HOLLYWOOD CA- FEBRUARY 26 The Oscar statuette is seen backstage during the 89th Annual Academy Awards at Hollywood & Highland Center

So far, the Oscars does not plan to replace Hart and instead will go without a host.

The debacle continued when Ellen DeGeneres invited the Night School star to do an interview on her talk show.

Kevin Hart has said he definitely won't come back on board as host of the Oscars this year. "I was going to come out swinging, I promise you". I apologized again. I said I apologized before. Stop searching for reasons to be angry.... "I'm not over delivering and over proving myself, because no matter what you do it may still not be received". I am truly happy people....there is nothing that you can do to change that...

He said: "I'm done with it". If u want to search my history or past and anger yourselves with what u find that is fine with me.

"So unfortunately I can't do it this year". I love to love. Please.... What's understood should never have to be said. "Have a attractive day".

Hart stepped down days after being announced in December following a backlash over tweets he posted between 2009 and 2011. Hart declined to answer that question but wanted to focus on being "a good person" who shouldn't have to justify who he is.

"If you didn't [hear the apology]". My goal is to bring people together not tear us apart. "I love The Academy, I love everybody that's involved with the process of building the Oscars and making it".

Just when you thought the Kevin Hart homophobic tweets drama has come to an abrupt end, the actor/comedian has chose to give an apology on his SiriusXM show "Straight from the Hart" Monday and unpack the joke that got him into hot water. Unfortunately, the interview didn't go as the Academy hoped it would. There was a possibility of Hart coming back if the Academy felt his appearance on Ellen DeGeneres' show revealed true remorse, but Hart once again played the victim card as opposed to offering any kind of a genuine apology.

'I have explained how I evolved, which makes me say, I'm over it. I know that I've apologised. "I'm not that guy". "I'm not saying how I've changed anymore", said Hart, before ruling out hosting the Oscars next month. We feel like that maybe he misunderstood or it was handled wrong.

"The Academy never really axed him - they wanted him to apologize - he wouldn't, and then he was the one to drop out", the source said. Whatever we can do we would be thrilled. Oscars ceremonies in the 1970s and 1980s frequently featured a rotating cast of hosts: in 1973, Carol Burnett, Michael Caine, Charlton Heston and Rock Hudson all hosted the show, and in 1986, the show was hosted by Alan Alda, Jane Fonda and Robin Williams.

Strahan asked how Hart would respond to the people who take issue with the way that the comedian has apologized in the weeks following his removal as host.
