Can the Avengers save the 2019 Oscars from Kevin Hart?

The Oscars 2019 are all set to charge ahead without a host this year after Kevin Hart dropped out due to his past homophobic comments that resurfaced on Twitter

According to Variety, the Oscars are planning to go ahead without a host for the first time in almost 30 years.

Change is afoot for major film awards shows on both sides of the border.

The comedian stepped down as host of this years Oscars after he faced backlash online when past homophobic tweets resurfaced.

With a heavy political lens put on awards shows these days, "there are so many things to think about before you put someone in that position", said Janson, who a year ago hired two comedy stars to host the Canadian Screen Awards: Jonny Harris and Emma Hunter.

Unnamed sources told the magazine that producers plan to move ahead without a major headliner and instead fill the show with various skits, segments and musical numbers performed by a variety of Hollywood stars.

The White Chicks star even compared himself to Hart, pointing out that he sometimes becomes a bit defensive when his wife accuses him of something wrong.

The "Night School" actor appeared on "Good Morning America" Wednesday and addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding his short stint as the planned host of the 91st Academy Awards ceremony. For the first time in nearly 30 years, the ceremony will be held without leading. Producers have reportedly asked the "Avengers" cast to assemble. Here we are, just six weeks from the live air date on February 24, and the Academy still doesn't have a host for the 91st Academy Awards-or perhaps it's more accurate to say that they have finally found their host.
