Alien: Blackout Finally Revealed for Mobile, It Isn’t a Sequel to Isolation

20th Century Fox tease a new Alien game that may actually be an interactive movie like Bandersnatch

FoxNext Games and D3 Go! have revealed a new chapter in the Alien franchise: Alien: Blackout, a premium survival horror mobile game developed by Rival Games and Theory Interactive that picks up the saga of Amanda Ripley between the films Alien and Aliens. The bad news is that it's not a current-gen title but just a mobile game (as Blizzard said... hey, don't you have mobiles?).

If you're looking for something more action-packed from your Alien game, Cold Iron Studios has a shooter of some sort in development.

"The terror of Alien is brought to life in 'Alien: Blackout.' Try to stay alive while trapped aboard a crippled Weyland-Yutani space station carrying a deadly Xenomorph as it tirelessly hunts you and the crew".

Now, we 're not averse to mobile games over here at VG247. I guess we'll find out sometime this year how it plays.

Golden Globes: Christian Bale Thanks 'Satan' for Inspiration to Play Dick Cheney
James Franco won the Golden Globe for best actor in a comedy or musical a year ago for " The Disaster Artist ". In his acceptance speech, Bale singled out Satan for "giving me inspiration on how to play this role".

Sadly, we'll see none of this on console, as Alien: Blackout will only be coming to mobile devices.

The Alien franchise hasn't had the best of luck when it comes to video game adaptations, but that's in the past as one of the more recently released titles Alien: Isolation was received positively by fans and critics alike, and rightfully so. Outsmart the ideal hunter by making perilous choices. The unpredictability of both the mysterious alien and the ultimate fate of the crew will force players to make life or death decisions that permanently alter the outcome of the game. It also seems a prime candidate for a low-cost Nintendo Switch port, but FoxNext, D3 Go and Rival Games can cross that blindingly obvious bridge when they come to it. So here's hoping Alien: Blackout's developers will deliver a quality Alien game on Android.

Players will need to use the space station's limited power supply to operate a holographic map, surveillance cameras, and motion tracker, while attempting to remain hidden and protect the crew, according to the site.
