Biff! Pow! Zap! Former Hearthstone folks making Marvel game

Chu and Brode left Blizzard past year and began putting all their efforts into creating their own independent studio, Second Dinner.

Speaking about the project in the video, Brode said: '[We've been] working on, I think, a sick Marvel game for about six months.

We have a new Marvel game to geek out over while we wait to hear anything about The Avengers Project. "And that's money in hand with no need to sing and dance for milestone payments or desperately try to find new investors along the way".

For more on Hearthstone, check out our review of the game, which we called "Amazing" saying, "The elegant simplicity of Hearthstone's rules, its impressive attention to detail and personality, and the true viability of playing completely for free make it easy to fall under its spell and get blissfully lost in the depths of its strategic possibilities". Given that they've also just received a $30 million investment from NetEase, all signs point towards a game being made either for the PC or mobile markets - not a superhero blockbuster made from Insomniac's stylings.

The CW set to release ‘Batwoman’ pilot episode
Actress and model Ruby Rose has been cast as Batwoman in a new series for the CW. No timeframe for the pilot was reported.

Details are now scarce, but Chu brazenly insists that "In all likelihood, this will be the best [Marvel] game ever made". The indie studio was founded by former game director, Ben Brode, and executive producer, Hamilton Chu, joined by long-time Blizzard employees, Mike Schweitzer, Yong Woo, and Jomaro Kindred. It's going to be fantastic! The Chinese internet and gaming company has a huge mobile gaming portfolio and has previously published Blizzard titles in the country.

The new project is based on Unity, and Second Dinner is now hiring for two key roles. "Or Mighty! Or quite possibly all of the above!" Currently, a prototype of the game has been put together and it is able to be playtested.

"The Second Dinner team has a strong track record of delivering quality games".
