Google's Fuchsia OS will be able to run Android apps

Fuchsia OS' ability to run Android apps hardly comes as a surprise for anyone as it has the largest app market and is the largest mobile OS in the world. It rarely happens that there's a new operating system kernel is being developed as it requires tons of work. Earlier past year, Netflix also removed in-app subscription sign-ups in its Android app on Google Play. It says that Fuchsia Device Targets are used to build ART (Android Runtime) for Fuchsia, and both arm64 and X86_64 architectures are mentioned in the listing.

But however bold and big this project will get before commercially materializing, wide-scale adoption is going to be tricky to pull off, which is why Fuchsia absolutely needs to be compatible with the large number of Android apps out there. Overnight, reports have confirmed this to be the case, with a new change found in the Android Open Source Project. From the specially updated source code, Fuchsia OS uses a specially designed Android runtime version (ART) to run Android applications.

Google's Fuchsia OS has been long rumoured and not a secret anymore. Apple now segments its iOS operating system distribution data into two charts, with one being focused on older iOS devices and the other consisting of iPhones and iPads released in the last four years.

Google already released that toolkit back in February in beta version, with the first final version of Flutter arriving a few weeks ago.

Kawhi Leonard wishes for different end to Spurs tenure
The power forward had an astounding month in which he averaged 22.7 points while shooting 58 percent from the floor. But any thought that San Antonio Spurs fans might treat Leonard to even a mixed reaction were quickly dashed.

But it's unreasonable to expect all developers out there to switch to Flutter and convert their Android apps in time for Fuchsia's launch, which means Android apps should run on Fuchsia gadgets as they are right now.

We already know that Google is working on a successor to Android.

This will be a.far file, the Fuchsia's equivalent of Android's APK packages.
