Pele: Neymar simulation difficult to defend

Brazilian great Pele and Luiz Gustavo in action with Lazio's Ciro Immobile Nov 8 2018

Brazil's biggest soccer legend Pele does not think Barcelona star Lionel Messi deserves to be compared to him.

The fact Messi has redefined the game using primarily his left foot and body feints while possessing a smaller stature is surely testament to his true greatness.

Pele reckons five-time Balon d'Or victor and arguably the greatest footballer to ever walk this planet, Lionel Messi, "only has one skill".

"As far as I'm concerned, Maradona was one of the best players ever", Pele said in an interview with Folha de S.Paulo newspaper published on Wednesday.

"How can you compare?" Benjamin Mendy from Manchester City said that even if it is not known what it is going to happen the next day, it is for sure that every great player has to play for Premier League at least once.

"Sometimes I talk to his father, sometimes I see Neymar for adverts, it's hard to defend him for all the things he's doing in football, and I talked to him", he said, according to Sport.

Red Sox Re-Sign Nathan Eovaldi After Playoff Success
If Ian Kinsler doesn't make a throwing error in the bottom of the 13th, the Red Sox win the game and Eovaldi gets the W. The New York Yankees reportedly were interested in Eovaldi but did not want to go past three years on a deal.

The football icon from Brazil is of the opinion that he was a better footballer than Messi, who "only has one skill".

Messi has already won the Ballon d'Or which is regarded as the most glamorous individual sport award on five different occasion.

"Everyone talks more about Mbappe in Europe but I think Neymar is a better player", he said.

"[Franz] Beckenbauer, [Johan] Cruyff are also better. I spoke with him and reminded him of his ability".

The Brazillian who scored over 1000 career goals with three World Cups to show, wondered why people would compare him with the Argentine who is one-dimensional.

However, the Selecao star has previously declared his belief that compatriot Neymar is a better player than both Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, and he duly affirmed: "If you look around the world, the ones who stand out are Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar. I don't feel any more pain, I feel more weakness".
