Trump ghostwriter ridicules belief John Kelly’s replacement will reel president in

John Kelly was brought in to replace Reince Priebus as White House chief of staff

CNN on Friday reported that Kelly was expected to announce his departure in the coming days.

Trump ignored the rumors as he left the White House, but teased reporters with an important announcement about the future of his Joint Chiefs of Staff. Kelly is a retired four-star General.

Ayers, Vice President Mike Pence's chief of staff, has emerged as the clear favorite to replace Kelly.

He called Kelly "a great guy". The relationship seems to have frayed beyond fix. Kelly is reportedly on his way out.

A source explained that the men 'know that they are 17 months into what has been a very tumultuous relationship, ' adding: 'It is no longer seen as sustainable by either party'.

Raptors waive G-League guard Kay Felder after allegation of domestic violence
Monday's arrest may cost Felder any hope of returning to the National Basketball Association . Our sources say the alleged victim was able to call a family member who then called police.

It also found that White House lawyers objected to the interview of Kelly at first, arguing that executive branch officials should be free from such obligations unless necessary. As Trump prepares for his 2020 reelection campaign, some advisers have counseled him to replace Kelly with a sharper operative who can steer the administration through the daily - and hourly - political fights sure to come.

But inside the White House, it was viewed largely as an attempt to clamp down on speculation about Kelly's fate during the midterm elections, rather than a true vote of confidence.

Kelly was not at work Friday morning, though an ally said he was simply taking a day off and would be at the White House for a holiday staff dinner Friday night. And he had early successes, including ending an open-door Oval Office policy that had been compared to New York's Grand Central Station and instituting a more rigorous policy process to try to prevent staffers from going directly to Trump. A flurry of media reports in April claimed that Kelly had grown increasingly frustrated with the president.

Trump also said that State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert was his pick to replace Nikki Haley as the next USA ambassador to the United Nations.

This breaking news story is being updated and more details will be published shortly.
