IPL franchise Delhi Daredevils have renamed themselves as Delhi Capitals ahead of the 12th edition of the tournament. Co-owned by JSW Sports and GMR Group, the "Daredevils", one of the original IPL teams from 2008, have not been able to win a single title in 11 editions of the league.

The owners of the team-GMR Group and JSW Sports-are made this major announcement.

Changing the franchise name was always on the cards after JSW Sports - owners of football club Bengaluru FC - bought 50 per cent stake in the franchise earlier this year and wants to overhaul things completely.
