Bulls fire head coach Fred Hoiberg
Rumors have been swirling around the Chicago Bulls brass for a couple seasons now on whether or not a coaching change was coming, that day finally came.
Fred Hoiberg's time as head coach of the Chicago Bulls has come to an end, per an official release. It's a major step for the team who are finally starting to get a few healthy starters into the lineup as the new year approaches.
Hoiberg, 46, coached at Iowa State from 2010-15 and was named Big 12 Coach of the Year in 2012.

Funeral And Memorial Services Announced for George H.W. Bush
I loved to hear him surprise people with his wild side - explaining the pure joy he felt as he flew and jumped out of planes. Social media users thanked Sully for his services and commented on his and dogs' loyalty generally towards their owners.
He replaced Tom Thibodeau, who was sacked after five seasons, and the hope was that the free-wheeling style he used with the Cyclones would work in the National Basketball Association and that he would fare better than another former Iowa State coach, Tim Floyd, who went 49-190 record in three-plus seasons with the Bulls. The Bulls have gotten off to a horrendous 5-19 start to the season, and since taking over prior to the 2015-16 campaign, Hoiberg has amassed 115 wins compared to 155 losses in a little over three years.
Assistant coach Jim Boylen has been promoted to replace Hoiberg as head coach. He was the head coach at the University of Utah (2007-2011), leading the Utes to a 69-60 record. The writing was on the wall for the Bulls to move on, although they may have done it sooner than many would have thought.
The 7-foot Markkanen is perhaps the centerpiece of Chicago's rebuilding plan, but Hoiberg won't be around to see it through. Bobby Portis (right knee) and Kris Dunn (left knee), who are expected to return within the two weeks, would've allowed Hoiberg to coach the team he had worked with this summer.
