White House Plans to Pull Jim Acosta's Hard Pass Again
As reported by Lauretta, a federal judge ordered that the White House grant CNN's "star" reporter Jim Acosta his White House press pass back after it was revoked by the White House for acting like a jerk.
"The White House is continuing to violate the First and 5th Amendments of the Constitution". These actions threaten all journalists and news organizations. And, per usual, upon arrival at the White House from his probation or whatever you want to call it, Acosta attempted to shift the topic entirely unto himself as if the American public actually gives a damn what happened to their colleague who is seemingly unable to control his "urgent" questions for the president.
The White House responded that it would come up with a code of conduct for the press at briefings, which hadn't existed before.
White House press secretary Sarah Sanders, in an interview Friday on Fox News' "Hannity", told her father, former Arkansas GOP Gov. Mike Huckabee, a letter had been sent to CNN, and it is "frankly laughable" the network claims its access has been hindered.
Ted Boutrous, an attorney for CNN and Acosta, told Stelter on "Reliable Sources" that in the absence of reaching an agreement with the White House, they plan to seek a preliminary injunction blocking the White House from suspending Acosta's credentials for a much longer period of time as the case moves forward.
White House Plans to Pull Jim Acosta's Hard Pass Again
Jim Acosta, a thorn in the side of Trump at numerous president's press conferences, had his credentials removed last week after a particularly volatile session in which he relentlessly pushed Trump with questions on the migrant caravan making its way to the USA border. We're doing that, were going to write them up right now. "It's not a big deal, and if he misbehaves we'll throw him out or we'll stop the news conference".
When the intern came to take the microphone from him, Mr. Acosta refused to give it back, using his hand to chop at the woman's elbow to prevent her from controlling the microphone.
The White House later backed down on this claim, claiming that it removed the Hard Pass because Acosta asked too many questions.
"I think one of the things we'll do is maybe turn the camera off that faces them because then they don't have any air time, although I'll probably be sued for that and maybe, you know, win or lose it, who knows", Trump added.
