Big setback for Apple, iPhone X quality problems revealed; repair must

Apple also reassured everyone that these issues are only present on some iPhone X models, and the Xs, Xs Max, and Xr are not affected. In some instances, the iPhone screen acts as if it's been touched, even when it hasn't - a behavior dubbed "ghost touch" by some iPhone X users.

Any iPhone X owners out there affected by this touch issue with their display?

Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider will replace the display module on eligible devices, free of charge.

Regarding the iPhone X - which was discontinued in September - Apple states that it has uncovered that some screens "experience touch issues due to a component that might fail on the display module". Most recently, Apple admitted to a manufacturing defect in the iPhone 8. You can either make an appointment with a service provider or your local Apple Store, or you can contact Apple Support to find out about mailing in your phone for service.

In June, Apple said it would offer free replacements for the keyboards in some MacBook and MacBook Pro models.

What if you've already paid to have your screen fixed?

Apple will update the firmware on the SSD, and all data on the drive will be wiped out - so be certain that you have a recent backup completed before you go through with the fix process.

There has been an ongoing touch issue with some of the iPhone X units as well as MacBook Pro 13 data loss problems and the company is now acknowledging them by launching a replacement program for both.

The other service program is specific to 13-inch MacBook Pro (non Touch Bar) laptops equipped with 128GB and 256GB solid-state drives (SSDs) sold between June 2017 and June 2018.

You can check your MacBook Pro's serial number to see if your laptop is affected.
