Google has started rolling out its new Discover feed to US users visiting google.com on a mobile device.

The Google homepage, well-known for a sparse layout that spotlightt the Google logo search box, is getting one of its most significant revamps meant to make it easier to explore areas of interest.

Don't want Google Discover? Then, click "Discover" and "Don't show on homepage". By scrolling down, you can see the highlights of each story and select any items that interest you. Clicking the topic displays more related articles and allows users to follow the topic. You won't have to deal with cards showing up every time simply because you found a subject interesting once. For example, if you're learning to play the piano, Discover might show you content for beginners.

The feed also marks more of a philosophical shift for Google.

Shopping is a big possible use case for this functionality, while Google notes that websites owners will benefit from another way to get content discovered.

Google has about 94% of the mobile search engine market share worldwide and a 92% share on all platforms, StatCounter estimates, and faces few threats from other companies like Yahoo, Microsoft and Baidu, which is the leading search service in China's restricted marketplace.
