Lakers’ Ingram, Rondo to miss game against Suns

Recap Lonzo Ball's hot shooting not enough against Rockets

Rondo, Paul and Ingram were all ejected from the game, and we can expect further discipline from the league, whether it be in the form of fines or suspensions.

The Lakers and the Rockets provided some late-night fireworks in the National Basketball Association on Saturday evening, as punches were thrown by players on both teams when a skirmish started late in the fourth quarter.

James Harden led all scorers with 36 for Houston while Paul, who was thrown out of the game, added 28 markers and 10 assists. The two could be seen having what seemed to be an emotional discussion, when Paul took offense to Rondo for allegedly spitting on him.

In the ensuing group argument, Paul stuck a finger into the face of Rondo, who responded by punching his fellow point guard.

The Rockets were leading their hosts by 109-108 with just 4:13 minutes remaining in the game.

VanDeWeghe clearly indicated that Rondo did not acknowledge spitting on Paul.

"It's just not equitable", said D'Antoni prior to Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers. He began serving the suspension Sunday night when the Clippers played the Rockets.

"[We are] sending a clear message that this is not acceptable behaviour and you can not do this".

The heavily anticipated game between the Rockets and Lakers on Saturday night lived up to its expectations, but not for the reasons we saw coming.

The four-game suspension is the longest for an on-court incident since April 2012, when Metta World Peace of the Lakers received seven games.

Rondo's former teammate Paul Pierce revealed that he wasn't surprised that the two kicked off saying, "I am not surprised at all". I know how to be a leader.

"You leave things in the past and you get on with the future". Presumably, his penalty is the harshest because he both instigated initial shoving and also threw a punch shortly after the dust-up between Paul and Rondo.
