Selena Gomez is Being Treated at Mental Health Facility Following Medical Issues

Selena Gomez Has 'Emotional Breakdown' and Now Receiving Mental Health Treatment

The second hospitalization reportedly sent Gomez "into a downward emotional spiral", according to TMZ.

The first emergency occurred while Selena was at her Studio City, CA home in the last week of September. She was said to be down and emotional over a low white blood cell count after her kidney transplant.

The Wolves singer was taken to Cedars-Sinai where she stayed for a number of days, before being released. TMZ stated she "freaked out" when she was told she couldn't leave and attempted to remove the IVs from her arm. A source told People magazine, "She has had a tough few weeks and the panic attack in the hospital was the tipping point".

We're sending Selena lots of love and hope she is doing well. "After further monitoring it was decided that Selena would seek treatment at a [mental health] facility", a source told the site.

Family Turns Awkward ‘#HimToo’ Tweet into Something Good
It hasn't worked out too well for the mom or her military son online, and the slander she invited has been epic, to say the least. "He graduated #1 in boot camp", she wrote in the tweet , which has since been deleted.

According to TMZ Selena was admitted into the treatment facility to treat ongoing issues related to anxiety and depression.

This comes just weeks after the songstress announced she'd be taking a break from social media. Many have flocked to social media to discuss their own struggles and encourage other sufferers to reach out - a hard first step in the path to wellness. As fans of hers know, Gomez previously received a life-saving kidney transplant in September 2017 following the progression of her lupus.

Gomez has since been taken to psychiatric facility on the East Coast, where she is now receiving dialectical behaviour therapy.

Selena's ex, Justin Bieber, who married model Hailey Baldwin months after their break-up, is said to be "upset" about the news. "Kindness and encouragement only for a bit!" She wrote: "Just remember- negative comments can hurt anybody's feelings".
