Trump Mockingly Invokes ‘The Rules of #MeToo’ at PA Rally

According to the National Hurricane Center, the core of Michael will move across central and eastern Georgia Thursday morning, and then over southern and central SC later in the day.

Based on its internal barometric pressure, Michael was the third most powerful hurricane to hit the US mainland, behind the unnamed Labor Day storm of 1935 and Camille in 1969. That's just 2 miles per hour away from officially being a Category 5 hurricane.

Hours after making landfall near Panama City Beach, FL, destructive Hurricane Michael continues to cut a swatch of destruction into southwest Georgia and SE Alabama.

The National Hurricane Centre (NHC) said in its latest public advisory at 7 am BST Michael is moving towards the northeast and they expect the storm to reach central Georgia on Thursday afternoon.

Michael isn't alone. The National Hurricane Center says Hurricane Leslie and Tropical Storm Nadine are no threat to land over the open Atlantic Ocean, but Tropical Storm Sergio in the Pacific is blowing toward the Baja California Peninsula on a path across Mexico to the southern U.S. Plains and the Ozarks by the weekend.

Damage in Panama City near where Michael came ashore Wednesday afternoon was so extensive that broken and uprooted trees and downed power lines lay almost everywhere.

The storm has killed at least two people, including one child, according to reports.

The governor didn't wait for damage assessments before seeking federal assistance from President Donald Trump for 14 counties: Bay, Calhoun, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Hamilton, Jackson, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, Madison, Suwannee, Taylor and Wakulla.

As it approaches the Florida panhandle, Hurricane Michael has intensified into a Category 4 hurricane.

Gen, Terrence O'Shaughnessy, commander of the North American Aerospace Defense Command, said some Florida residents may have been taken by surprise by the rapid escalation of the storm.

Michael was forecast to remain a tropical storm Thursday as it passes over Georgia, the Carolinas and even Virginia, bringing as much as a half a foot of rain to those states in a matter of days.

"We haven't seen her since the tree hit the den".

-Strorm riders: Roughly 375,000 people in Florida warned to evacuate; many refused. The Carolinas are still recovering from Hurricane Florence less than a month ago.

The storm made landfall near Mexico Beach, Florida, at around 2 p.m. ET.

"This situation has NEVER happened before", it said on Twitter. Neighborhood streets flooded as waves battered the shoreline. It's left hundreds of thousands of people without power and an untold number of people homeless.
