World No. 2 Caroline Wozniacki captured her second China Open title here on Sunday with a commanding straight set victory of 6-3, 6-3 over No. 20 Anastasija Sevastova.

Wozniacki was impressive all week, never dropping a set and rarely looking troubled, sealing her spot in the WTA Finals Singapore in the process.

Wozniacki, who would have suffered her worst by ranking defeat in a final, opened the second set with a reassuring 34-3 record in previous encounters after winning the first set in 2018.

It is her second China Open crown - she also won it in 2010 - and 30th overall.

Basilashvili won 6-4, 6-4 to cause an upset against the world number four at Beijing's National Tennis Centre in China's capital.

Aaron Ramsey: Ian Wright backs Arsenal contract 'stance' on Wales misfielder
He revealed that the manager Unai Emery had taught them how to win the game by being efficient despite playing a good team. Arsenal are now in fourth position in the league and are only two points away from league leaders Manchester City .

"Having done everything, all of that, it's pretty incredible".

"I did everything that I can to be better for the final, it wasn't enough time to feel 100 percent", the 30-year-old said. Then I started believing that, you know, I'm really hitting my form, playing myself into shape. "I became number one here for the first time many years ago - eight years ago", said Wozniacki. "She didn't give me any presents, it was tough", said Sevastova.

Sevastova edged a tight first set with a solitary break as Osaka's game showed signs of falling apart.

The world number two was better in the big moments against Sevastova, saving seven out of eight breakpoints against the Latvian, who racked up 35 unforced errors. She sealed the win on her own serve and admits her game is now in a good place.
