Fans of Doctor Who have one huge problem with the new series

Whittaker, 36, was introduced in the sci-fi's season 11 premiere on Sunday - one year after BBC America announced she'd be the 13th actor and the first female to play the role since the series began in 1963.

JODIE Whittaker has won over viewers within seconds of taking over as the Time Lord, with many declaring: "She is The Doctor".

Indeed, with its Northern England setting and outstanding shots of Yorkshire scenery, I could be forgiven for confusing it with an episode from the Dalziel and Pascoe boxset that I'm still working through.

However, Jim Shelley said Whittaker's Doctor was "relentlessly irritating" and the revamp a tame affair lacking in drama.

The Thirteenth Doctor is, of course, is of course depicted as she appears on the hit BBC sci-fi adventure, with a rainbow-striped T-shirt, suspenders, cropped trousers, hooded trench coat and lace-up (albeit plastic) boots, looking as if she just stepped out of the TARDIS. Most episodes of Doctor Who where we get to see the new Doctor in action are interesting. I predict great things as the season develops.

"Half an hour ago I was a white-haired Scotsman". This leaves little room to really dig into the monster of the week, this time a tooth-collecting alien hunter named "Tim Shaw" (at least, that's what his alien name sounds like to the Doctor, much to Tim's chagrin).

Skybound Games to complete Telltale Games' Walking Dead series
Following the second episode, many fans were left wondering what would happen next and soon they will have their answer. Skybound will continue the game to see it to completion.

It also sounds better, with composer Segun Akinola's score proving more contemporary and less obtrusive than the previous work of Murray Gold. I already love everything about her so much. "This show needed a major change, and that's what she brings".

The process to come up with it was closely tied to the development of her and Chibnall's vision of what the Thirteenth Doctor is all about. Plus, I can't wait to see how they get out of the "stuck in outer space" cliffhanger they ended the episode on.

A couple of years ago, I was part of a group that toured Australian theatres in a Royal Institution of Australia production that explored whether that scientific gobbledegook has any basis in fact.

Tell us, what did you guys and gals think of the Doctor Who premiere?

There's a lot riding on this episode, probably the most important since Russell T Davies relaunched the series with Christopher Eccleston in 2005.

How did you decide what kind of Doctor you were going to be? . What she learned from her binge watching was "how inclusive it is". Can there be any better role model for budding young scientists?
