Brett Kavanaugh hearing: Mark Judge responds to Christine Blasey Ford testimony

Senators of the Republican Party have said that the Senate judiciary committee has chose to vote on the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh, the US Supreme Court candidate backed by President Donald Trump, on Friday (Sept 28) morning. Blasey, who also spoke on Thursday, claimed that a young Kavanaugh pinned her to a bed, attempted to take off her clothes and put his hand over her mouth to the point that she thought he was "accidentally going to kill" her.

What Republicans say is the due diligence on Kavanaugh is complete and now it's time for the Judiciary Committee to vote on whether to recommend him to the full Senate - and then for the chamber itself to decide.

But by the time she finished detailing her allegation that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her when they were teenagers, Ford was being widely praised as credible and courageous. He tried to deflect when asked by Senate Democrats, saying he would do whatever the committee wants (knowing full well they do not want the FBI to investigate.) When asked what he wants, Kavanaugh responded with several seconds of damning silence.

Some experts say Ford's use of scientific brain function has helped lend to her credibility.

"I found it incredibly hard to watch", said a woman who has two daughters at the school and asked not to be identified because the school had requested that parents not talk to the media.

Late Thursday, Sen. Bob Corker of Tennessee announced he would also vote to confirm Kavanaugh.

"Farrow and Mayer report that, as a freshman at Yale University, Kavanaugh allegedly exposed himself to classmate Deborah Ramirez at a drunken party". Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn. was blocked by Republicans in a vote. Ted Cruz and John Cornyn joined other Republicans in decrying the process as a politically motivated attempt to derail Kavanaugh's nomination. I see a liar who has the chance to prove his good faith innocence, and has conspicuously refused. More than 1,100 alumnae signed a letter of support for Ford and called for a full investigation before the nomination process continues. "The Senate must vote!"

Brett Kavanaugh unwilling to answer questions on FBI investigation, Mark Judge
Kavanaugh avoided answering when asked by Democrats whether he would ask for an FBI investigation into Ford's allegations himself. Joe Manchin III (D-W.Va.), held a brief meeting in a private office in the Capitol building after the hearing.

"As part of Judge Kavanaugh's nomination to the Supreme Court, the FBI conducted its sixth full field background investigation of Judge Kavanaugh since 1993, 25 years ago".

And Kavanaugh questioned Sen.

A short delay. The undecided senators could ask for a small delay, a day or two, in order to consider their vote more carefully and go back through the Thursday hearing.

The survey also found that 29 percent of Hoosiers said that a vote against Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court would make it less likely for them to support Donnelly in the fall midterm election, while 21 percent said they would support the Indiana Democrat and 38 percent suggested it would not make a difference.

And the lawyer for Ford's friend, Leland Ingham Keyser, said in a statement: "Ms. Keyser does not know Mr. Kavanaugh and she has no recollection of ever being at a party or gathering where he was present, with, without, Dr. Ford".

Christine Blasey Ford testifies before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Sept. 27, 2018 in Washington.

Right-wing commentator Mike Cernovich tweeted, "Ford seems kind". Even then, I knew the first line of the column I would write if that happened: 'It's now clear that Brett Kavanaugh's nomination can not go forward'.
