Researchers want to pay you hundreds for eating avocados

The Habitual Diet and Avocado Trial (dubbed the HAT Study) is being conducted by California's Loma Linda University School of Public Health.

Dr. Joan Sabate, director of the university's Center for Nutrition, Lifestyle and Disease Prevention, says the study - which is funded by the Hass Avocado Board, an industry group - will examine whether eating one avocado per day will help reduce fat in the abdomen.

On the official website, the scientists wrote: "Since avocados contain the highest fat content of any fruit, it seems illogical to think they might actually help people lose their belly fat".

Scientists want to pay people to eat avocados for six months. The test group will be given 16 avocados every two weeks and are required to eat one avocado per day throughout the six-month study.

"Nevertheless, that's the hypothesis behind an upcoming study".

The building, which can be found at 2 Constitution Ave NE in Washington , DC, is now named after former Democratic Sen. Cindy was the first one to walk up on stage, patting the coffin and leaning over to "kiss her husband" one last time .

Participants are required to be 25 years or older with a body mass index over 25 for women and over 27 for men, and they must be able to complete an MRI.

After the experiment, participants in both groups will be paid $300 (£233) each. Along with Loma Linda University, three other American universities - Tufts University, Penn State University and University of California, Los Angeles - will join in on the research, and are in need of 250 participants themselves.

Those who make it into one of the two groups will receive a free health screening and must attend a monthly meeting with a dietitian.

To apply for the opportunity to participate in the study, visit the researchers' website.

Besides being told to eat avocados, study participants get a kickback at the end of the six-month study: $300, plus of course free avocados "either during the study or after the study completion". "We are rigorous in our selection of projects".
