PGA Championship Round 4: Tiger Woods hole by hole

Rain Suspends PGA Championship during Second Round

Eldrick Woods wasn't the only "Tiger" turning heads Saturday during the third round of the PGA Championship at Bellerive.

England's Wallace produced one of the most memorable moments of the tournament by claiming a "mindblowing" hole in one on the par-three 16th.

But the leaders hadn't teed off yet. Another excellent birdie chance coming up for Woods. His third shot out of the bunker was a beauty - it hit the green and rolled back toward the hole for a very makable par putt.

"I left pretty much every single putt short on the back nine", he said. "The greens were getting fuzzy, they're getting slow, and I didn't hit the putts quite hard enough, and I made sure on 17 I did". And if the putter feels good and stays hot on the weekend, just try and make some kind of a run. Furyk then has four captain's picks to make on September 4.

Woods didn't discount the fact that the long day might have had an impact. He said there have been no physical issues since the week began with him taking ice baths to combat swelling.

"It's not necessarily physical", Woods said.

"Twenty-nine holes, it's not necessarily the physical, it's this mentally grinding that hard for 29 holes in this heat". That would go such a long way for everyone.

Thunderstorms then forced play to be suspended mid-afternoon and later abandoned for the day, with the second round set to resume at 7am local time (1pm BST) on Saturday.

Still, it was the biggest move he has made in a major since the 2011 Masters, when he came from eight shots back to briefly lead before finishing fourth.

Idris Elba Tweets Cryptic James Bond Message After Week Of Speculation
The actor posted a filtered selfie - only featuring the top part of his face - with the words "my name's Elba, Idris Elba ". Yesterday (Aug. 10), we reported that Idris Elba was in the front running to play James Bond .

And then Charl Schwartzel made it 16 players with his eight-birdie round of 63.

"It was awesome", said Stewart Cink, who also shot 66. "But I've got a shot going into tomorrow". "You don't want to give back too many shots out here". Hearing the crowd, and Tiger's performing great. After his third straight birdie, at the eighth hole, that was it. He finished with 10 consecutive pars.

Tiger Woods took route 66 towards a first major title since 2008 as a late stumble from Brooks Koepka threw the 100th US PGA Championship wide open.

And the round was solid, perhaps something to build on.

Still to be determined was whether Woodland's score even holds up as the lead. Woods is the most intriguing challenger, of course, because he has made remarkably fast progress in this comeback, and because he was four off the 54-hole lead at Carnoustie - just like he is at Bellerive - before he surged to the top of the board and flipped the sports world on its ear. But there's no question what Woods will need to do.

"A little frustrated at this place in general", Spieth said. "It just felt like all that I remembered playing with Tiger all those years, you know, when he was winning tournaments".

At the British Open, he shot 34 over the front nine in the final round to briefly get into the lead. Seemed like everybody was between 2- and 4- or 5-under par. "All in all, we'll play aggressive and just stick to what we've been doing".

Those birdies after his big blunder stood out to Finau, one of only 11 players to make the cut in all four majors this year.
