Lyon president gives transfer update on Nabil Fekir's move to Liverpool

Lyon star Nabil Fekir

Fans tweet Nabil Fekir urging him to join LiverpoolWhat does the future hold for Fekir and Liverpool?

Nabil Fekir has hinted that his transfer to Liverpool could still be on this summer.

Fekir came close to signing with Liverpool before the World Cup, only for the Reds and Lyon to fail to agree terms.

Fekir completed a medical at France's Clairefontaine training base and had even conducted interviews with Liverpool's media team.

But Fekir has given an indication that a move to Liverpool could still be on the cards.

Results of a medical soon flagged up concerns for Liverpool who opted to pull out of the deal, though Lyon chief Aulas has now admitted things could soon get back on track.

But instead of ignoring the call, Fekir turned around to nod and smile at the supporter.

Theresa May Rejects Idea of Second Brexit Referendum
Theresa May has insisted her plan for Brexit is a strong one - and will continue to push for a fair deal. She added: "I have always said I'm in this for the long term".

Fekir has always been coveted by the Reds, but a £53m move was scuppered earlier this summer when the results of his medical gave Liverpool cause for concern about a recurring knee issue.

Liverpool nearly signed Nabil Fekir last month but Lyon's sensational verdict saw the saga to end but now, it looks like the deal could be revived after club Chairman dropped a big hint.

'It seems to me that Liverpool could come back in, ' Aulas told Le10 Sport.

But the Daily Mirror claim Liverpool are ready to resurrect a move for the World Cup winning France star.

A transfer for the Lyon star was close to being agreed at the start of June but was said to have collapsed due to worries over his history with knee injuries.

The attacking midfielder has met Aulas twice at this World Cup where they discussed the transfer still going ahead.
