Indiana Jones 5 sets new release date

Harrison Ford in

The film will reunite Ford with director Stephen Spielberg in the "Indiana Jones" franchise created by filmmaker George Lucas, that has grossed almost $2 billion at the world box office with four films and amassed a global fan base. The next chapter in the franchise is now set to arrive in theaters on July 9, 2021.

Just for our own amusement (and perhaps, consternation), let's put it this way: Observe the photo of the late British actor Robert Eddison in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade below?

First published July 10, 2018 at 10:17 a.m. PT. Update, 10:32 a.m. PT: Adds additional release schedule information. "It's rare to have such a ideal combination of director, producers, actor and role, and we couldn't be more excited to embark on this adventure with Harrison and Steven".

Former Illini star Kevin Anderson ousts Roger Federer at Wimbledon

MI auto racing highlights - from Daytona to Kalamazoo
Daytona 500 victor Austin Dillon didn't seem to be much of a factor, but he made it to the end of the night and finished ninth. Jones was involved in one of the many wrecks, but his No. 20 Toyota was still in good enough shape to get by Martin Truex Jr .

At least we can count on the movie throwing out some self-referential, dryly-witty, geriatric humor for the audience - especially if Jonathan Kasdan brings his Solo sensibilities over to Harrison Ford's other iconic property. He's still attached to give it one more go as the legendary whip-cracking, snake -fearing adventurer, but he's not getting any younger.

It was reported that Indiana Jones 5 would miss its previously scheduled release date set for 2020 due to conflicts over the script, however, a new release date for the film hadn't yet been announced. But can he really be expected to do the action necessary for an Indiana Jones movie while he's pushing 80?

This move also marks the second time that the fifth Indiana Jones movie has been delayed.
