Prior to his death on Sunday, former UCLA Bruins basketball player Billy Knight had been charged with six felonies for allegedly sexually abusing a child, TMZ Sports reported Wednesday.

Knight's body was found at 2:45 a.m. Sunday, and he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter by the Phoenix Fire Department. While the Maricopa County Medical Examiner has yet to announce an official cause of death, police say there were no signs of foul play, according to ESPN. "I lied, I cheated and I stole", he said. I isolated myself from my family members. "I isolated myself from my friends, and that's not something you should do", the former basketball player said in his recorded YouTube video.

Mental illness is a bad disease and should be treated very seriously. I hear voices in my head constantly and I don't know where they come from.

"Mental illness is serious". "I just want to help somebody out there who is feeling like me, maybe an ex-athlete, maybe someone who is changing jobs".

He urged people struggling to get help.

Knight cited his religion, saying "I am sorry, Lord", and acknowledged that he could end up in heaven, hell or somewhere in between. But he said he left "some things" for him, saying it's not much, but it's what he had left.

News broke on Tuesday that former UCLA basketball star, Billy Knight, had taken his own life at the age of 39 after battling with mental illness the past few years. "We ask that the Bruin family keep Billy's loved ones in their thoughts during this hard time".

Knight was a fantastic player for the Bruins between 1997 and 2002, but unfortunately is yet another UCLA alum gone too soon. He went undrafted in the 2002 NBA Draft, but continued playing basketball in the D-League, Europe, Japan and with the Harlem Globetrotters. The team told the Daily News in a statement that they were "deeply saddened" by Knight's passing.

The AP News reports Escoto as saying, "I planned on going to his house to talk, but his mom called me 45 minutes later saying, 'He had a gun and was talking insane..."
