PGA Tour to bring tournament to Detroit Golf Club in June 2019
The Aon Risk Reward Challenge competition will take place over an entire season, and will feature the world's top golfers as they tackle some of the most "strategically challenging" holes across both the PGA Tour and LPGA schedules, a release said.
The Players Championship - often described as the unofficial fifth major - has been moved to March from its previous date in May, with the end-of-season FedEx Cup play-offs shortened to three events and finishing on 25 August.
After months of teasing, the PGA Tour's return to MI got a name, date and confirmation of location Tuesday.
Behind the tighter schedule was a desire for the tour to complete its season at the Tour Championship before the start of college football and the NFL.
Jay Monahan, commissioner of the PGA Tour, added: "The Aon Risk Reward Challenge is an authentic fit for our sport that will resonate with players and fans while providing Aon an intuitive way to reinforce how their firm creates value for its clients".

The Dell Technologies Championship, formerly the Deutsche Bank Championship, ends after its 2018 event. FedEx first became the title sponsor in 1986 and has supported the tournament ever since.
