Trump's Personal Driver Sues Him for 3300 Hours of Unpaid Overtime

Donald Trump's Personal Driver Sues for a Ton of Overtime Pay

"In an utterly callous display of unwarranted privilege and entitlement and without even a minimal sense of noblesse oblige President Donald Trump has, through the defendant entities, exploited and denied significant wages to his own longstanding personal driver", the complaint said.

Cintron, it says, was not paid overtime for more than 20 years, but under the statute of limitations can only claim six years' worth, which the lawsuit put at a total of 3,300 hours owed at "time and one-half".

Donald Trump's former personal driver has sued the president's family business for thousands of hours of unpaid overtime, according to a lawsuit filed in NY on Monday. Cintron, a registered Republican, worked as Trump's personal driver for more than 25 years, according to Bloomberg.

In 2010 he was given his second raise, to $75,000 - but on condition of surrendering his health benefits, which Mr Cintron alleges saved the Organization almost $18,000 per year.

Donald Trump was not named as a defendant.

Cintron says he was required to be on duty for Trump starting at 7 a.m. each day until whenever Trump, his family or business associates no longer required his services. The Independent reported that Trump has been part of at least 135 lawsuits since he became the president, while Vanity Fair revealed back in 2016 that Trump has received more than 3,500 complaints from people who say they weren't properly paid.

He still technically works for Trump as a member of his security staff.

"Once the facts come out we expect to be fully vindicated in court", the spokesperson said.

A Trump Organization spokeswoman didn't immediately return a call for comment on the driver's lawsuit.

Cintron, 59, lives in Queens, New York, his lawyer, Larry Hutcher, said in a phone interview.

"During this time he was forced to work thousands of hours of overtime without compensation", the suit says.

Now, the Secret Service has taken over Cintron's driving responsibilities and he wants to be paid for the years of service he provided to Trump.

Cintron is suing for about $350,000, Hutcher said, which would cover the unpaid wages, penalties, interest and attorneys' fees.
