Johnny Depp Sued For Allegedly Assaulting City Of Lies Crew Member

As the location manager recounted after the encounter, Depp (who, per Brooks' account of the ordeal, may have been drinking) allegedly offered him $100,000 to punch him in the face - an offer that Brooks did not take him up on at the time.

In the film, which had previously been referred to as "LAbyrinth", 55-year-old Depp portrays LAPD Detective Russell Poole, who investigated the slaying of rapper Biggie Smalls. Brooks says the scene wasn't working well, and he informed the director they could only have one more shot at finishing it. But before Brooks could get help, he claims that Depp punched him twice in the rib cage.

"[Brooks] still did not react and Depp continued to scream and berate him in front of a set full of people until Depp's own bodyguards physically removed Depp from the scene", the lawsuit alleges, claiming that "Throughout the altercation, [Brooks] noticed that Depp's breath reeked of alcohol". Brooks, according to the lawsuit, was concerned about Depp's behavior and was reaching out to the police officer when Depp screamed, "Who the (expletive) are you? You have no right to tell me what to do". Brooks alleges that Depp attacked him, and even told him he'd give him $100,000 to punch him in the face, and now Brooks is understandably seeking legal action.

Depp allegedly answered, "I don't give a f- who you are and you can't tell me what to do!"

"City of Lies" is due for release in September.

When Brooks returned to the set three days later, producer Miriam Segal allegedly wanted him to sign a declaration stating that he would not sue the production team.

The location manager is suing for assault and battery, infliction of emotional distress and negligence, among other things.

The Pirates Of The Caribbean star is already facing suits filed in May in California Superior Court from two former body guards for unpaid wages and overtime.
