Family: Woman on oxygen dies after power cut off to her home

A New Jersey grandmother who depended on an electric-powered oxygen tank to breathe died hours after power was cut off to her home, family members say. Washington claims on Thursday, July 5, PSEG cut off power to her home, rendering her oxygen tank useless.

Daniel's granddaughter Mia offered a further harrowing insight into her suffering, telling NJ.com: 'She was trying to catch her breath - she was gasping for air.

"We put one ice pack here by her side and one on the other side. We extend our honest condolences to her family", Karen A. Johnson said.

The family called emergency services, and paramedics reportedly provided a portable oxygen unit as a short-term fix. She was gasping until the time she died'.

Daniels' daughter, Desiree Washington, said family members called PSE&G throughout the day, pleading with them to turn the power back on.

Sam Sherd, Daniels' son, shared bank records showing he paid Piussi Energy $500 two days before the power was shut off. We asked them, "Why are you turning off her electric at the pole?"'

PSE&G said in a statement on Sunday that service to Daniels' home was disconnected "due to lack of payment over several months".

Linda had been in hospice care with congestive heart failure since the middle of April.

Casey supported Hardiman's appointment to the Third Circuit in 2007, saying he was well qualified to serve on that court. The appeals court, though, upheld the net neutrality rules, but the Trump-era FCC has since repealed majority .

Washington said her mother's home lost power about 10 a.m. Thursday.

"They still cut off the utilities", he told News 12.

A PSE&G utility truck finally arrived Friday morning, but Daniels had already died 16 hours earlier, her daughter said.

A source involved in the rescue mission who saw two of the four boys walk out of the cave told Reuters that they looked exhausted but healthy, adding that one even looked "vivacious and fresh". PSEG told Eyewitness News that it did notify the customer that their account was behind and service would be terminated.

"Dangerous and unnecessary shut offs in the sweltering heat and frigid cold disproportionately impact low-income [families], the elderly and communities of color", NAACP President and CEO Cornell William Brooks said when the association's report was released a year ago. It's so sad she had to go like that.

PSEG is conducting an investigation, and Newark Police also are investigating. "And I don't want it to happen to anyone else".

PSE&G said in a statement to CNN that they were "saddened to hear that Ms. Daniels passed away" and that they tried at least 15 times to contact the family about their bill over the past seven months.
