Suzuki details all-new, SA-bound Jimny mini-4x4

Full screen

While it has a ladder-frame chassic, Suzuki says it has worked on the new Jimny's on-road handling with a new steering damper on the front suspension, created to minimise steering wheel vibration.

Replacing the 1.3-liter that we've found underpowered in our test drive of the previous generation, the 1.5-liter in the all-new Jimny delivers "ample torque at low revolutions". It can churn out 101PS of max power and 130Nm of max torque.

The engine will be paired to either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission.

Wimbledon 2018: Simona Halep loses to Hsieh Su-wei in third round

England to face Croatia in semi-finals
We did create some opportunities at the start of the second half'. It's not that something goes wrong always in football. I want to pay tribute to the team and the coach.

More details about the forthcoming new Suzuki Jimny have been revealed, detailing European specifications for its new cute and small, but tough no-nonsense off-roader. We look forward to doing just that when we get a new Jimny for review. For instance, the round headlights are taken off the original Jimny, while the vertical grille, horizontal slits in the clamshell bonnet and "gathered" rear taillights are all from the second-generation auto. Dimensions are 3480mm long, 1645mm wide and 1725mm high with a wheelbase of 2250mm. Suzuki claims that it's still a functional and straightforward environment though, and that the switches are all large enough to operate while wearing gloves. The car's ground clearance is rated at 210 mm, while its boot space of 85 litres can be expanded to 377 litres with the rear seats folded. The central console is centred around a seven-inch touchscreen at higher trim levels, which includes Bluetooth and smartphone connectivity. Short overhangs front and rear make for an approach angle of 37 degrees and a departure angle of 49 degrees.

"The Jimny is synonymous with the Suzuki brand and to have an all-new model on its way is something worth talking about". The vehicle can be operated in 2H front-wheel-drive mode most of the time, maximising fuel economy. Power is sent to a part-time four-wheel drive system via a transfer case, with a brake-type limited-slip differential to optimise traction.

Coming to safety features, the auto gets front and side airbags, a seat belt reminder system for all occupants, radar-based collision assistant, high beam assist, lane departure assist and traffic sign recognition among others.
