Saturday's Pringles Preview: Sweden face England, Russia and Croatia to clash

Neymar celebrates with teammate Paulinho after scoring his team's first goal against Mexico

Is this England's year or should we assume Brazil will win again?

I am still backing Brazil to win this World Cup, but the French would give them a serious test.

"But I ask you, can we get out Belgium, who is a smaller country than 40 million?"

"We are strong in our beliefs and have been from the outset".

He said at the minimum his team would repeat the success it had at the World Cup in France in 1998 where it got the bronze medal.

The first game on Friday sees Uruguay take on France, which means Luis Suarez vs. Kylian Mbappe. The foreign tourist flow grew 10 times in Kaliningrad and Yekaterinburg and 15 times in Volgograd, whereas in the other World Cup host cities it increased 1.5-2 times. France struggled a bit in the group, Uruguay topped theirs with only wins and conceded no goals.

Brazil went 2-0-1 in the group stage and most recently dispatched Mexico 2-0 in the knockout round.

The Blazers eased into the Round of 16 after winning their group having recorded three victories and they locked horns with fellow European side Denmark in the Round of 16.

Now that two of the most risky teams in Germany and Spain have made an earlier-than anticipated exits, it leaves Brazil as the only true superpower left in the tournament. Let's watch Brazil climb ever closer to the top of the mountain and back them in this quarterfinal tilt.

Both of them may have played their last World Cup-and even with all of their accomplishments, they will always be remembered by the tournament they could never conquer.

Prior to the World Cup, all eyes were on Emil Forsberg to deliver for Sweden, and he has not disappointed so far. The teams that qualified to quarter-finals after tasting success over their Round of 16 opponents are - France, Uruguay, Brazil, Belgium, Sweden, England, Croatia and Russian Federation. Sweden will come into this game considered an underdog, but the team has all the tools to overcome England.

Yet as they walk out to face the tournament favourites in Kazan on Friday, they might wish they were playing relative minnows Sweden instead. Sweden is without a game-changing big name, but England is not.

Meanwhile, Mourinho said he believed England have a "golden chance" to reach the World Cup final for the first time in more than 50 years.
