MacBook Pro Refresh Specs Possibly Outed By Geekbench Score

The 2018 Mac Book Pro is expected to look much like its predecessor

We've seen more reports of an alleged low-priced MacBook Air come up, that fit in with Apple's objective of targeting Google's lead with the Chromebooks in the education sector.

A Geekbench benchmark has surfaced that appears to reveal an upcoming MacBook Pro revamp. Now, a Geekbench listing points to Apple preparing an update to its MacBook Pro lineup featuring Intel's "Coffee Lake" series of processors.

The eight-generation Core i7-8559U CPU in this device has a base frequency of 2.7GHz, but a maximum turbo speed of 4.5GHz.

A refresh to Apple's laptop line is generally expected by the end of the year, including a new MacBook Air replacement product with a 13-inch Retina display. The 2017 13-inch MacBook Pro uses a dual-core Intel chip and benchmarks at around 4600 single-core and 9500 multi-core. This is expected to be an upgraded model of the 13-inch MacBook Pro launched a year ago, and if the scores are true, it is a notable upgrade.

Women Connected To Mother Teresa's Charity Accused Of Trafficking Babies
Mother Teresa was a missionary nun who became a global symbol of compassion but she was also a controversial and divisive figure. Meanwhile, an FIR has been lodged against the Missionaries of Charity for being involved in human trafficking by the CWC.

The Intel Core i7-7820HQ used in last year's 15-inch MacBook Pro was laid down with a 14nm process, and has 4 cores and 8 threads, the same as the i7-8559U that appeared in these benchmarks.

If the MacBook Pro that was tested is legitimate, then it will likely be a successor to the mid-2017 13-inch MacBook Pro.

"The previous MacBook Pro that appeared on GeekBench was Apple's 13" Touch Bar variant launched past year. The i7-8559U was created to be easily downclocked to 20W. This chassis was fitted with Intel's Core i7-8750H and 32GB of RAM. It also has 16GB 2133MHz LPDDR3 memory. Not that the MacBook Pros are particularly ugly or in need of a design overhaul, but Apple could do something a bit fancy to mix things up beyond adding a somewhat redundant Touch Bar.
