Walker ready to sacrifice preferred right back role

England boss Gareth Southgate says that Marcus Rashford picked up "a knock" during the team's final training session before leaving for Russian Federation for the World Cup. Ultimately, we know we'll be judged on results but we have to focus on the processes.

Having featured in over 50 games for Manchester United during the 2017-18 season, Rashford scored a stunning goal in England's friendly win against Costa Rica on Friday.

A key member of Manchester City's title-winning team last season, Walker has been deployed as a right-sided centre-back in a back-three by manager Gareth Southgate and is likely to retain the spot against Tunisia in their Group G opener on Monday.

Walker had hoped to prove himself as the world's best right-back in Russian Federation, but added that he is happy to help England in any way he can.

"I have to move on from it".

Walker said the transition has been made easier because of the tactical adjustments Pep Guardiola has made at times that have allowed him to work more in a three-man defence.

US, Mexico, Canada embark on World Cup history with winning bid
President Donald Trump welcomed the news, tweeting: "The U.S., together with Mexico and Canada, just got the World Cup ". The FIFA congress announced Wednesday it had selected Canada, the United States and Mexico to host the tournament.

Trump says accused human rights abuser Kim Jong Un 'loves his people'
Mr Trump and Mr Kim - who traded vicious insults past year - gripped each other's hands in front of USA and North Korean flags. The joint statement issued in Singapore was vague. "His base is truly willing to believe anything".

"Is it my preferred position? Of course not", Walker said.

"I would be surprised if the majority of players did not say the World Cup is the biggest sporting event in the world".

With that clash in mind, De Bruyne has pinpointed former Liverpool star Raheem Sterling as the player he thinks could dominate at the tournament. I will do anything for the team. "We know we are not the finished article - in fact, we're a long way from it - but I think people see signs of progress and enjoy watching us and the manner in which we try to play".

That process has not been easy after the ignominy of losing against Iceland in the European Championship two years ago - a defeat that ended Roy Hodgson's reign - and Southgate has also witnessed the fans' disenchantment during his own reign, most notably in the form of mutinous chants and a mass walkout during the World Cup qualifier in Malta in September.

"It might give me a little bit of an opportunity, but it is about reading the game", Walker said.

"I've got a family that are going out there".
